A total of eight dynamic teams battled it out on the ice, showcasing incredible skill and teamwork. Participants included: Lucky Punch, Valmiera, Nocco, Hockey Craft, T77, Next Hockey, Vepr, and Zolitude. It was particularly exciting to see several teams formed by a vibrant mix of Latvian and Estonian players, fostering cross-border camaraderie and enhancing the spirit of friendly competition.
Over the two-day period, a thrilling total of 15 games were played, keeping fans on the edge of their seats. The new 3x3 format proved to be a fresh and exhilarating experience for the Estonian hockey community, generating immense interest. Each game was a testament to the players' cohesion and individual talent, with outcomes often hinging on critical plays and personal prowess.
The excitement extended beyond the arena, with a fantastic 5.5 thousand viewers tuning in to the live broadcast on our YouTube channel, @hype3x3hockey. This impressive viewership highlights the growing appeal of the 3x3 format and the strong engagement within the regional hockey community.
The tournament received overwhelmingly positive feedback from Estonian participants and spectators alike, affirming its potential. Building on this success, the 3x3 Hype Hockey tournament in Tartu is now planned as an annual stage of our upcoming league, promising even more thrilling hockey action in the years to come.
The ultimate victors of this groundbreaking tournament were Team Vepr, who demonstrated exceptional resilience and skill. In a nail-biting semi-final, they overcame a strong Team T77 in a shootout, before securing their championship title with a hard-fought victory against Hockey Craft in the grand final. Congratulations to Team Vepr on their well-deserved triumph!
The momentum doesn't stop here! We are thrilled to announce that the next 3x3 Hype Hockey tournament will take place in Mārupe, Latvia, on July 12-13, 2025. Get ready for another weekend of high-energy hockey!
